Stop Waiting, Start Straightening!

Are you unhappy with your smile? If the answer is yes, Dr. Brandon Boggan and the bracing team at Orthodontics South can help. In reality, the vast majority of people with crooked or gapped teeth are extremely self-conscious about their appearance, and live their lives not smiling. When people think of braces or getting teeth straightened, they typically think about the unattractive image and discomfort of metal brackets and wires.

Unlike traditional metal braces that everyone can see, Invisalign is almost completely invisible and undetectable. Invisalign will not hold you back because you can completely remove your aligners to eat, drink, brush and floss. Invisalign consists of a series of virtually invisible clear aligners that you replace every two weeks.

Each aligner is custom-made and is designed to progressively shift your teeth into proper alignment. Because each aligner is specially made for your bite and smile, you can rest assured that with the Dr. Boggan's guidance and the help of the bracing team at Orthodontics South, Invisalign will be creating a smile that truly fits you.

Dr. Brandon Boggan is able and willing to help you get that beautiful, straight smile you've always wanted by using the most revolutionary orthodontic treatment ever created, the Invisalign system. Dr. Boggan is the most experienced orthodontist with Invisalign and Invisalign Teen in Alabama and he is in the Top 1% of all Invisalign providers worldwide. Now Providing Laser Treatment

What is Diode Laser treatment?
Procedures that used to require anesthesia, scalpels and sutures can now be performed with no bleeding since lasers coagulate and cauterize (“seal” the wound) as they cut. The possibilities of infections are more remote with lasers than with traditional surgical techniques (scalpels & sutures).

How does the Diode Laser work?
The diode laser emits a ray of concentrated energy that delivers a narrow pulse, which removes very small areas of gum tissue. Dr. Boggan uses a topical anesthetic before beginning the procedure, and the actual treatment takes only a few minutes. Patients treated with the laser are surprised to find that there is little to no discomfort during the procedure.

Diode laser treatment provides several benefits for patients receiving orthodontic care. By using this specialized diode laser, Dr. Boggan is able to safely, and effectively:

Remove excess gum tissue in order to expose more of the tooth's surface for better aesthetics and function.

  • Your gum tissue serves as a “frame” for your teeth; orthodontic lasers are used to sculpt the gums around the teeth in a way that helps improve the overall appearance of your smile.
  • If your gums haven’t receded properly, or if a tooth is erupting slower than expected, a laser can be used to remove excess tissue and reveal enough tooth surface to place a bracket.

Expose Impacted Teeth

  • Impactions refer to teeth that haven’t erupted properly through the gums. By using laser treatment, we can assist a tooth’s eruption without the need to wait for months for the tooth to erupt on its own or refer for an expensive surgical procedure.

Treat Aphthous Ulcers & Cold Sores

Do you or someone you know suffer from reoccurring cold sores or aphthous ulcers?

  • Cold sore and aphthous ulcers can often appear at the worst possible times due to many different factors and linger for up to 2 weeks if left untreated. Beyond the usual skin creams, ointments, and sometimes pills we employ a diode laser to treat cold sores and aphthous ulcers. We offer laser cold sore treatment, which is painless and best of all it offers immediate relief to the discomfort caused by the cold sore or aphthous ulcers and immediately begins the healing process, which stops the sore from progressing and getting worse.
  • Many patients report that the lesions will completely disappear within days instead of the usual few weeks it would normally take for it to run its course. The treatment can also help prevent cold sores and aphthous ulcers from re-occurring in the same place.

In summary, a few reasons why Dr. Boggan recommends laser treatment:

  • Less post-operative pain
  • Reduces healing time
  • Less invasive—no bleeding
  • Increased comfort and faster recovery
  • Preserves the health of teeth and gums
  • Faster and more efficient orthodontic treatment
  • The procedure can be done in office
  • More cost effective
